Final-state Phases in B → Dπ, D ∗ Π, And
نویسندگان
چکیده
The final-state phases in B → Dπ, Dπ, and Dρ decays appear to follow a pattern similar to those in D → Kπ, K∗π, and Kρ decays. Each set of processes is characterized by three charge states but only two independent amplitudes, so the amplitudes form triangles in the complex plane. For the first two sets the triangles appear to have non-zero area, while for the Dρ or Kρ decays the areas of the triangles are consistent with zero. Following an earlier discussion of this behavior for D decays, a similar analysis is performed for B decays, and the relative phases and magnitudes of contributing amplitudes are determined. Open theoretical and experimental questions are indicated. PACS codes: 13.25.Hw, 11.30.Hv, 14.40.Nd, 13.75.Lb

An Isospin Analysis of CP Violation in B
By use of current experimental data, we carry out an isospin analysis of the weak decays B → Dπ, D * π and Dρ. It is found that only in B → Dρ the strong phase shift of two different isospin amplitudes can be approximately neglected. We derive some useful relations between the CP-violating measurables and the weak and strong transition phases, and illustrate the different effects of final-state...

The observed strong phase difference of 30 o between I = 3 2 and I = 1 2 final states for the decay B → Dπ is analyzed in terms of rescattering like D * π → Dπ, etc. It is concluded that for the decay B o → D + π − the strong phase is only about 10 o. Implications for the determination of sin (2β + γ) are discussed. The weak decay amplitude to a specific final state can be written as Ae iδ wher...
متن کاملThe final - state interaction phases of the two - body B decay : The bounds from the updated data
The updated experimental data are used to analyze the final-state interaction phases of the two-body decay amplitudes of the B mesons, B → Dπ, Dρ, D ∗ π, andD ∗ ρ. Combining the upper bounds on the branching fractions of the color-suppressed neutral modes with those of the charged modes, we have set constraints on the relative phases between the amplitudes A(B → X−Y ) and A(B → XY ) where X = D...
متن کاملX 0 Measurements
The recent measurements of the color-suppressed modes B 0 → D(∗)0π0 imply non-vanishing relative final-state interaction (FSI) phases among various B → Dπ decay amplitudes. Depending on whether or not FSIs are implemented in the topological quark-diagram amplitudes, two solutions for the parameters a1 and a2 are extracted from data using various form-factor models. It is found that |a2(Dπ)| ∼ 0...
متن کاملFinal-State Interactions in Heavy Quark Decays
We study the role played by the final-state interactions (fsi) in heavy quark decays using Pomeron and Regge exchanges to describe high energy scattering. At center of mass energy √ s ∼ 5GeV , Pomeron dominance does not apply. We study the behavior of the decay amplitudes as √ s is varied close to the B mass. We also investigate the behavior of the decay amplitude as √ s → ∞. Our conclusion is ...
